8. Floral Cotton Scrap Wreath with Greenery

8

Sometimes the prettiest wreaths are the ones that look like they’re growing right out of the door. A floral cotton scrap wreath with greenery has that effortless cottage-garden feel that suits older homes and traditional door colors beautifully.

Materials: A grapevine or foam wreath base, assorted floral cotton scraps in 4 to 5 complementary colors, faux eucalyptus or fern sprigs, hot glue, and a wide ribbon in a coordinating color.

Instructions: Cut the cotton into irregular shapes, between 2 and 4 inches across. Glue them onto the base in clusters, leaving some of the grapevine or foam peeking through for a more natural look. Tuck faux greenery stems into the clusters, securing with hot glue at the base. Finish with a soft, untied bow at the top so it drapes naturally.

Time: 2 hours. Difficulty: Easy to moderate.

Choose a palette that matches your garden or front landscaping. This kind of wreath looks even better when its colors echo the flowers growing nearby, tying the whole entryway together.

One small caution: if your door faces direct sun, the cotton fabric may fade over time. A coat of clear fabric sealer spray will help it stay vibrant much longer.
