2. Rolled Fabric Rosette Wreath

2

If you love the look of fabric flowers but not the sewing, this rosette wreath is one of the most rewarding DIY fabric wreath ideas for front door decor you can try. The texture is rich, the color is completely customizable, and the technique is genuinely relaxing once you get going.

Materials: A styrofoam or cardboard wreath ring, roughly 1.5 yards of cotton fabric in your chosen color, about 25 small felt circles (around 1.5 inches), hot glue, scissors, and a fabric-covered button or brooch for the center.

Instructions: Cut the fabric into 3-inch-wide strips. Take one felt circle, add a dot of hot glue in the middle, and start twisting one end of a fabric strip into the center, twisting as you glue and spiraling outward to form a rose. Once the rosette reaches the edge of the felt, glue the end underneath. Repeat until you have around 20 to 30 rosettes. Glue each rosette onto the wreath form, slightly overlapping to cover gaps. Add a feature rosette with a button center at the top or bottom.

Time: 2 to 3 hours (great for a movie night project). Difficulty: Easy to moderate.

For a spring wreath, use pastel pinks and sage greens. For winter, try deep burgundy and cream. Mixing two complementary fabrics gives the wreath visual depth without feeling busy.

💡 Pro Tip: Lightly singe the edges of synthetic fabric strips with a candle (carefully!) to prevent fraying. Cotton doesn’t need this, but it will fray, so consider a quick dip in fabric stiffener for cleaner edges.
