5. Spring Patchwork Fabric Wreath

5

If you have a stack of fabric scraps in pretty spring colors, this is a wonderful way to put them to use. A patchwork wreath feels cheerful, handmade, and personal, and it makes a lovely Easter or Mother’s Day gift.

Materials: A foam or straw wreath form, an assortment of spring-print cotton fabrics (florals, gingham, small dots), a hot glue gun, and a fabric bow or ribbon for hanging.

Instructions: Cut your fabrics into small squares, roughly 2 by 2 inches, mixing prints and solids. Slightly fold each square in half diagonally to create a soft point, then hot glue the folded edge directly onto the wreath form. Work in rows, overlapping the squares so the wreath form stays hidden. Once complete, attach a pretty bow at the top.

Time: 2 to 3 hours. Difficulty: Easy.

Choose a color story before you start—soft pinks and greens, yellows and blues, or lavender and cream all work beautifully. Sticking to a tight palette keeps the patchwork looking intentional rather than chaotic.

This is also a wonderful project to do with kids who are old enough to use a low-temp glue gun. Let them pick the fabrics and arrange the patches, and the result will be something genuinely heartfelt.
