2. Hanging Felt Ghost Garland

2

A felt ghost garland is an easy way to add Halloween charm to a doorway, window, or fireplace. The repetitive shape gives it a whimsical, storybook quality, and the soft fabric catches light differently than paper garlands do.

Cut a series of small ghost shapes from white felt — about three to four inches tall works well. Stitch or glue tiny black eyes on each one. Then attach each ghost to a length of twine, jute, or thin ribbon using a small stitch through the top of the head. Space them evenly along the length.

If you want to mix things up, alternate ghost sizes or use slightly different eye shapes — some round, some oval, some sleepy half-moons. You can also stitch a tiny initial or a small heart on a few of them for a personalized garland.

This is a great project for using up felt scraps, and it’s forgiving enough to make with kids. Hang it across a mirror, drape it over a window, or string several together to create a layered backdrop for a Halloween party dessert table.
