4. Felt Ghost Wreath

A felt ghost wreath makes a striking front door statement without being overly Halloween-specific in a gory way. It feels cheerful, welcoming, and just a little bit playful.
Start with a foam or straw wreath form. Cut a variety of small felt ghosts in different sizes and expressions. Attach them to the wreath using hot glue, layering them around the form until it’s densely covered. Tuck a few wisps of gauzy cheesecloth between the ghosts for extra texture.
For a more dimensional look, mix in a few felt bats or small black felt circles as accents. If you want a color variation, use a few cream or pale gray ghosts alongside the white ones for depth.
This project takes a bit longer — around an hour and a half — but the result is a keepsake wreath you’ll use year after year. It’s also a wonderful project to make alongside a friend, with one person cutting shapes while the other glues them on.
