3. Upcycled Cereal Box Magazine & Notebook Holders

Large textbooks, folders, and notebooks can quickly topple over on flat surfaces. Turn everyday cereal boxes into vertical file holders.

  • Materials: Empty standard or family-sized cereal boxes, ruler, craft knife, patterned self-adhesive contact paper or scrapbook paper, and craft glue.
  • How to Make:
    1. Measure about 4 inches from the bottom on one narrow side and make a pencil mark.
    2. Draw a diagonal line extending from that point up to the top edge of the opposite side.
    3. Carefully cut along the line with a craft knife to create the classic slanted magazine holder shape.
    4. Wrap the exterior in peel-and-stick wallpaper, floral wrapping paper, or minimalist linen-textured vinyl, tucking the edges neatly inside.
  • Styling Tip: Line three or four holders side-by-side to organize notebooks by subject.
